Poxycon
-
- Super strong wear layer.
- Surpasses the concrete binding.
- Does not fall to pieces due to freezing, is perfectly weather-resistant.
POXYCON's characteristics are determined by the special epoxy-resin agent. The product is placed as a wear layer on existing concrete or tile floors or screeds, with the adhesion surpassing the binding of the concrete itself (i.e. a break will occur in the concrete itself if an attempt is made to break the weld).
Is vapour permeable and makes the surface slip-free; perfect weather resistance, does not fall to pieces due to freezing.
PROCESSING OF THE BASE:
- Remove all loose and hollow sounding concrete parts thoroughly until a healthy, hard and solid base is produced.
- Derust the possibly released reinforcement bars by hammering and sanding with a steel brush.
- Remove dust from base thoroughly and if necessary degrease.
APPLICATION OF POXYCON FLOOR BOND (BINDING AGENT LAYER):
- Important! Mix the full packages of comp. A and comp. B with each other (a correct mixing ratio is very important).
- Spread POXYCON BOND as a primer with a brush on pre-treated concrete.
- Duration of use after mixing: approx. 30 min. at 180°C.
- Low temperatures extend the duration of use; high temperatures shorten the duration of use.
APPLICATION OF POXYCON:
- The components are packed in the right ratio.
- Stir comp. B into comp. A until the mass becomes homogeneous (± 1 min. Mixing time). Add comp. C while stirring and mix thoroughly (± 3 min. stirring time).
- Mixing can be done using slow-moving rotary mixers (drill) or planetary mixers (Zyklos).
- Duration of use after mixing: approx. 30 min.
- Processing: apply POXYCON with a trowel or plasterer's square trowel in the still wet, recently applied POXYCON FLOOR BOND and level it.
- Layer thickness: unlimited.
Composition: is made up of 3 components: resin com. A: mixture of modified epoxy resins; hardener comp. B: polyamine hardener with regulating catalysts; filer comp. C: annealed, acid washed quartz granualte with well defined granule distribution.

Chemical resistance: resists acids, alkalis, oil, grease, petrol, solvents and (after 7 days) salt solutions; is resistant to aggressive vapours, gases and sea air; resists most chemical products.
Specific gravity: approx. 2kg/dm³.
Colour: unpigmented, sandy coloured.
Hardening through time: can be walked and driven on after approx. 10 hours (20°C); fully hardened after approx. 36 hours (20°C).
Heat resistance: +50°C to -30°C continuous.
Flashpoint: in non-hardened state > 48°C.
